Our chicken breeding program at Fleur de Lis Farm is intentionally different. You can hand-select your breeds from our own flock, raised right here at the farm. These birds aren’t numbers — they’re our pets, many with names, and they’re cared for every single day. Over the years, we have carefully sourced and grown our breeding stock from incredible, dedicated breeders across the United States—people who share our commitment to quality, care, and preservation of exceptional genetics. Read on to learn about our heritage breeds, so you can choose the perfect additions for your coop.
When the Keilman family joined us as partners in this program, their passion for chickens and eggs matched our own! Together, we’ve poured our hearts into developing a thoughtful, sustainable program. From sharing genetic research to selecting and promoting a brand-new breed, our journey has been one of learning, collaboration, and care.
We noticed a growing need — the shortage of chicks, the poor shipping practices of large hatcheries, and, sadly, the disregard for animal welfare. We wanted to be part of the solution.
Our mission is to support local families (especially those who can only keep a small backyard flock) and nearby farms looking to strengthen their egg production. We’re here to walk alongside you as you raise these amazing animals — from our farm to your home, with care every step of the way.
Our chicken breeding program is launching soon! Will offer straight run (day-old) chicks and pullets for sale. Learn more below.
